This post is written in the NUS library as I am taking half day off from work to go hand up my 1st internship report to my professor mentor and at the same time, sit through an interview at NUS High School to be a boarding counsellor there. Simply put, I get free accomodation in exchange for looking after a bunch of secondary school and JC boarders. Surprisingly Mr. and Mrs. Wong, from my old hostel in Oldham Hall still remembers me. I was quite disappointed in myself this morning because I started to change my mind about staying in a hall again. You can refer to one of my earlier posts about having accomodation whose validity is subject to other people's views and moods.
As usual, I charmed my way through (or so I would like to think) the interview. I like interviews that are like a chess game where you can see what your opponent is thinking, so that I can guide them along in my masterplan feeding them my pawns, knight, rook and bishop (ok, bishop can potentially sound wrong, so ignore if you may =P). Of course one has to be ready with all the pieces on the board prior to the game =).
At any rate, I went a step further, capitalising on the fact that the security guard at the school gate was an aunty, to further gather intel on the competition - no other applicants so far. So I unless I have given the management the impression that I am a big bully/serial rapist/habitual panty thief throughout the half an hour interview just now, my chances are quite good.
Of course, as I've told the security lady, as insurance, she could always sabotage all further male applicants by directing them to the wrong building, making them miss their interviews. xD
Anyway, I'm heading off to hand up my report to the department office, then for lunch with Siew Ping and Joy.
