for everyone
The past two evenings were spent at my schoolmates’ 21st birthday parties. For company, friends since primary school and the only thing I can say is that I can’t imagine a moment in time throughout this holidays that I’ve enjoyed myself so much. That, in addition to Wendy’s homecoming.

It must be written in the stars that girls are destined to tittle-tattle non-stop at gatherings. And along with our homage to digital cameras, came the infinite stream of photographs, at the price of blinding flashes (before discovering, no, asserting, that Eunice has the ever steadiest hand at taking photographs without flash at night *grins*)(Ok, I eat my words. They don't look all that different or nicer now huhuhu *sobs in a corner*)

  1. Them in the baby pool, picture not taken by Eunice.

2. Picture of girls in baby pool, by Eunice. Ok not very good now that I see it. But come la, say I crever lah xD

We were better behaved on Friday, perhaps from us feeling as a closer knit group at the party and keeping to ourselves (a nicer way to say that we couldn’t help but feel not-so-connected to the rest of the guests) but that did not stop us from click-clack-ing away enough for our dosage of pictures.

Us on Friday.

That aside, I wanted to talk about the big hoo-ha behind the seemingly automatic pose some people have in every of their pictures, call it their signature pose if you want, but I just can’t seem to put a finger on how to aptly describe my sentiments about that. Sure, you know which angles work best for you, but what happened to letting loose and living the moment as it is? So much for candid pictures *hmmph*

The reason why we enjoy taking pictures so much these days is to capture the moments which unlike the past, we didn’t have much opportunity to, unless you had money to burn for developing photographs, or as I fondly recall, “wash film” but then was the time when everyone would post nicely, kept their eyes open and mouths smiling widely.

4. Ok I shall embarass myself and put this up, my secondary school picture. Everybody say cheese. Ready? "1..2.. Eh your hair tie nicely lah, it's blocking your face.. ok ready again? 1..2.. stop laughing, stand nicely.. ok smile ah 1..2..3!"

5. Look at what we do now. We take obscenely horrible and mindless pictures of our chin and fingers and what nots until Avni has to photoshop the picture heavily.

I must come clean though, that I have my own “angle” when I take pictures too these days. This is a realization from analyzing my pictures all day today. I tilt my head downwards ever so slightly and flash the most humongous smile I can muster. I think they call it, grinning like a fool. Hehe.

That aside, girls will be girls and when you put a whole bunch together, haih, all their narcissism will give guys' ego a good fight. And with that said, *kowtows to the shrine of digital cameras*

On another note, I would go on with my grandmother’s feelings about the big hoo-ha over turning 21, from recent events of my friend's lavish party and my thoughts of what happened, but I have to keep in mind that if I do, I would in turn, be the hypocrite and there goes the little get-together in McDonalds that I had in mind.

Psst. Jo. You and me. Need more pictures =]
